CAD/CAM
Since the mid 1980's Ottaway Engineering has been using CAD/CAM to assist in the efficient manufacture of our customers components. We use EdgeCAM for this purpose and wherever possible will work from the customers models.We can import most types of data, including the following:
Pro/ENGINEER, Pro/DESKTOP, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, AutoCAD, Parasolids, IGES, DXF, STL and STEP.

We use 3D modelling to optimise our fixturing

Toolpaths can be easily modified at this stage to reduce time
Below Right:
Once the machining has been simulated we can verify this against the component model to minimise costly mistakes
